WHAT IS
AIRSPACE DEVELOPMENT
In a nutshell it is using the airspace above an existing structure to build homes or offices. Typically this is on top of an existing low-to-mid-rise block of flats, but could also be above a commercial building, or even across the roofs of a whole terrace of houses.
?
With pressure from central government on local-authorities to make land available for new homes, and often a resistance from the local community to lose green spaces, building up is a logical alternative.
WHY IS
AIRSPACE DEVELOPMENT
NEEDED

How is an apartment delivered
A property is most people’s largest purchase. The second largest purchase is often a car. Would you ever consider getting someone to build you a car?! No, cars are built in precision-engineered factories by highly skilled technicians. At Dwell Above we have taken this theory and adapted it to apartments. Our apartments are built in factories and are precision-engineered by highly skilled technicians. This brings numerous benefits including;
-
A higher quality apartment
-
No unreliable tradesmen
-
Significantly reduced construction time*
-
Significantly reduced noise, mess and hassle for the adjacent flat owners
*after roof prep. our apartments are typically delivered and installed by a crane in 2 days

What are the benefits to Leaseholders
-
Flat roofs don’t last forever and are expensive to repair.
With our approach any money saved to repair the roof could be spent on the communal areas, or even returned.
-
Additional apartments could reduce service charges.
If we are able to add extra apartments to a block of 10 existing apartments the service charge would typically be reduced by 15%.
-
Factory building means less disruption
Because our apartments are built in bespoke factories and craned on to the building, there is up to 90% less disruption – less noise, mess and hassle.

Isn’t it time-consuming, noisy, and messy

Our structural engineers, surveyors and designers comprehensively check the building to ensure that the additional weight will be ok on the building. However, given the lightweight design of the new structure, there is rarely a building that we cannot make work.
